Do You Qualify for the VFW?
Membership in the VFW is selective and reserved exclusively for those who have received campaign medals for service in hostile waters, airspace, or foreign soil during times of conflict.
Core Requirements:
- ✔ Received an Honorable or General Under Honorable conditions discharge.
- ✔ Served in an overseas area that qualified for an authorized campaign or expeditionary medal.
- ✔ Alternatively, served 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days in Korea.
Common qualifying campaigns include: OIF/OEF (Iraq & Afghanistan), the Gulf War, Vietnam, Korea, and various specific global expeditionary operations.

Don't qualify for regular combat membership but want to serve? The VFW Auxiliary is open to husbands, wives, parents, children, and siblings of eligible veterans.
The Auxiliary represents a vital backbone of our post operations, managing local clothing collection cycles, dynamic school scholarship contests, and food pantry events.
